Sungrow makes the commercial battery systems we most often design with. The right one depends on the demand peak it must cut and the hours it must cover, not the largest capacity that fits.

Where it sits on your site

Solar feeds a hybrid inverter, which charges and discharges the Sungrow PowerStack or PowerKeeper battery and supplies the site switchboard. How we choose

Modular PowerKeeper stacks suit a site whose capacity may grow. A liquid-cooled PowerStack cabinet suits a larger load where the space allows. Both controllers handle peak shaving, demand control, zero export, backup and FCAS. We size the battery against twelve months of interval data and the site’s tariff, specify it with the solar and controls, and have it installed by licensed electrical contractors engaged under Vitalic’s governance.

Which Sungrow battery suits a commercial site?

For larger loads, the liquid-cooled PowerStack (110 kW / 257 kWh per cabinet, up to 25 in parallel). For modular capacity from about 50 to 250 kWh, the air-cooled PowerKeeper with the SH110CX hybrid inverter. The right one depends on the site’s demand peak, tariff and space.

Is the Sungrow commercial battery on the CEC approved list?

The PowerKeeper ST050–250CF is (BAT-916). Listings are model-specific and expire, so we check the current list for the exact model before counting on any certificate.

Can a Sungrow battery provide backup power?

Yes, when the system is designed for it. Both ranges support emergency backup, and the PowerKeeper has a built-in transfer switch. Backup still needs the essential circuits, starting loads and duration specified in the electrical design.

What warranty does Sungrow give?

Sungrow states a ten-year warranty on the PowerKeeper, subject to its battery warranty letter. Its PowerStack pages and datasheets do not state one, so we confirm the terms for the exact model in the quote.

Does a commercial battery earn certificates?

Only on its first 50 kWh of usable capacity. Under the Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which businesses can use for batteries of 5 to 100 kWh, certificates are paid in full up to 14 kWh, at 60 per cent to 28 kWh and at 15 per cent to 50 kWh, and only for a battery on the Clean Energy Council’s approved list. A commercial battery is justified by the demand charges and energy costs it reduces.
